                Daylight Savings Time
                         by John Guthrie

                        October 29, 2000.  1:59am.
In one minute, what time will it be?  Well, shouldn't 2:00am come after
                1:59am?  One minute after 1:59am is 1:00am?
How can this be?  How could such a thing happen?  Does this mean that
                         I am one hour younger?
Hmm.  Well if that is the case, would you not be an extra hour older
when daylight savings time comes in the Spring?
Well, anyways, just remember to set your clocks back one hour.  And
actually the second time when 1:59am comes around, I do believe that
then, one minute later it should become 2:00 am.
                            All this confusion!
O.K., now take a deep breath.
                                  In
                                 Out
                                  In
                                 Out
                                  In
                                 Out
                           Are you okay now?
If you're not, or are still confused about this daylight savings time stuff,
go talk to someone about it, perhaps read about it in a book at the local
library, perhaps get some medical attention if you need it.
In case you didn't quite figure out the purpose of this article, perhaps I
can help by giving you a brief summary of it.
Change the time on your clocks back one hour Oct. 28th before you go
to sleep OR Sunday morning (Oct. 29th)

        TEXT.DOC ON THE WEB!
             By John Guthrie

Yes, finally Text.doc has it's very own website!  In case you haven't
seen it yet, go to http://www.msu.edu/~guthri11/TEXT.DOC.HTML.
Currently you can read previously sent issues of the newsletters, which
have been modified somewhat, also a place for comments from people
just like yourself.  Hopefully it will also include a page for Text.doc
Trivia within the next week or so.  Now don't have to worry about me
knowing how much you suck at my trivia questions, (or how much you
don't suck at my trivia questions).  Check back often, as I might have
added something on to it since the last time you visited.  Please don't
feel hesitant to send me email regarding this newsletter or my website.
When you send me an email at [email protected], it is not
automatically forwarded to the rest of the newsgroup.  I can use this
feedback from you to improve this newsletter or my website.  Unless
you tell me otherwise, your name should not be included in articles
pertaining to reader feedback.  And remember, think of this as your
personal newsgroup, not as a newspaper or radio station, etc.  Thanks
to all of you who have sent me feedback thus far, and please continue
                                to do so.

               Halloween on Tuesday?
                by John Guthrie

                             Trick or Treat!
Which will you choose to give out this halloween?
Believe it or not, Halloween actually falls on a Tuesday this year!
A school night!  Is this good for the children?  Oh, what the hell?  As if
Halloween has never fallen on a school night before.
Speaking of Halloween being on a school night, it's a school night for
me as well, literally!  I've got class to go to that very night, and have
class the following day as well.  As if I'd be going trick or treating
                              anyways......
Along with Halloween comes Devil's Night?.  Which will you choose to
celebrate this year?  Well, if you want to have a positive celebration,
might I recommend you choose to celebrate Halloween over Devil's
                                Night?
Well, whether you're going Trick or Treating, passing out candy, etc.,
just remember not to drink alcohol and drive at the same time, or vice
versa.  And remember to buckle up.  (It's the law here in Michigan)
And if you're driving, for God's sake make sure you don't run over any
of those trick or treaters.  And please don't pass out poisoned or
contaminated candy to these children unless you want to burn in Hell?,
and even if you do want to burn in Hell?, please don't do it anyway.
Find another way to go there if that's where you want to go.  And if
you're a trick or treater, don't eat candy that looks like something is
wrong with it. (Unless you want to die!)  O.K., hopefully now you are
                        prepared for Halloween.
Have a Happy & Safe Halloween from your
                       friends at Text.doc!
