         Should Children Read/Watch the News?

 article by John Guthrie

Violence, drugs, rape, poverty, and much much
more......Would you like your children exposed
to these?  NO WAY! (at least I would hope not)
Well, these things do happen  in our world, as
much as we may wish that they didn't.  Some
people are exposed to these more than others.
One way of letting others know about these
things that take place in this world, is through
what we call news. *NOTE* The following is not
based on a true story, as far as I'm aware it is
also fictional, and is used to.......oh, just read.......
     Picture yourself watching the news........the
reporters is reporting on a bombing that has
taken place within the last hour.......An entire
     country has been completely
     destroyed.......Millions of lives lost......How could
this happen?............Didn't all of the nations
     permanently disable their nuclear
     weapons?........Did I mention that your kid(s) are
     watching......
It's news!  You want to be informed of what's
going on in the world, don't you?  Your kids
should know of what's happening as it's their
world too, shouldn't they?  But then again,  you
don't really want your children exposed to these
kinds of things, do you?  What do you think?
Please send me your comments on  this article
to: [email protected]  If I get a lot of feedback
on this, I might do a follow-up article in a future
     edition.
