![]() about me...
Born in Cote-des-Neiges (a neighbourhood of Montreal), raised in Dorion and NDG. I attended classes at posh Mount Allison U in New Brunswick and at Concordia in Montreal, where I got a Real Education for the Real World, along with my B.Sc. degree. Along with (I like to think) English teaching, I am quite good at guitar playing, singing, and Manchu Wu Tai Chi. I speak English and French fluently, along with some Korean and Spanish. Formerly a science major, I'm still hoping to pay my student loan debt. And do some other things. I like to sing and play guitar. During my free time in South Korea, I earned an online TEFL certificate. We can be net-friends on myspace, if you have an interesting profile. I am on friendster, though I don't log in much. Recently, I have been adding lots of people on facebook. Just do a search for "John Ross" and find the one in Montreal. Since getting a job as a hagwon (private school) teacher, I have written a number of English teaching materials, which are available on this website. In 2004, I wrote and circulated a petition on electronic voting machines in the U.S.A. (by birth, I hold both Canadian and American citizenship) which has over 400 signatures to date. (more info). For the record, I am not currently active in this way, as I feel it necessary to withdraw from such things. Alan RIchardson once said, "If you want to change the world, go ahead and try. You will wind up trying to change yourself." I went to high school with the one and only Sam Roberts. He's a well-known rock musician in Canada. He was co-president of Loyola High School in 1992 and is (at least, was) an all-around nice guy with a winning personality. His band includes two other LHS alumni, Eric Fares and James Hall. Other great hands I have shaken include those belonging to country-rock legend Greg Keelor, and Canadian TV actor Louis de Grande.
myspace (I am trying to spend less time here) friendster (I dont use this much) See also Photos, some teaching links, tai chi form and video, and my F-A-Q.
