Bitten by the blues bug as a child, he was playing guitar at the age of 10, by 14 he was on his own and learning his craft. As a young man John had the great fortune to meet Son House, who was living in Rochester, N.Y. Impressed by his interest and dedication, the great bluesman took John under his wing, and the two musicians spent many hours playing together over the next few years. John has gone on to play his brand of blues all over the world and make a number of acclaimed recordings, currently on Blind Pig Records.
