Now we go on to the trip out to the carrier with Claire.

The Mole harbor area used to shuttle sailors and visitors between the carrier and Key West.  The Washington has to anchor outside the reef because her hull is too deep for the Key West harbor.

The USS Washington on the horizon. She is enormous.  The sky you see through the hull is where the hatches are open to let air flow through the hanger decks.

Claire with the carrier in the background.

Helo ops with a H-53 Sea Stallion helicopter.  These helicopters are HUGE.

Claire on the bridge with some of the Washington's
F-18 Hornets, the ship's angled catapult deck, and a sailboat behind her.

Claire on the Vulture's row which is an open sort of balcony part of the bridge watching a H-53 Sea Stallion helicopter take off.
