PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Antero Niittymaki stopped 24 shots for his second shutout
of the season as the Philadelphia Phantoms blanked the Manchester Monarchs,
1-0, on Friday. The 24-year-old netminder turned aside all 10 shots he faced
in the third period and helped shut down four Manchester power plays to
improve his record to 14-5-0. Jon Sim scored with under two minutes gone in
the opening period for Philadelphia, which raised its mark in one-goal
contests to 10-3-1. Mathieu Garon made 21 saves in the loss for the Monarchs,
who have dropped five of their last six games.
