WILKES-BARRE, PA -- Michel Ouellet scored late in the third period as the
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins outlasted the Philadelphia Phantoms, 6-4, on
Saturday. Ouellet, who registered a goal in both the first and second, put a
feed from Kris Beech past goaltender Neil Little with 91 seconds remaining in
regulation to break a 4-4 tie and give his team the lead for good. Beech
finished with a goal and three assists and Matt Murley registered two assists
and three points for Wilkes-Barre, which has taken three of its last four.
Marc-Andre Fleury made 15 saves for the win, raising his record to 9-4-2.
Little, who faced 15 shots in the final period, surrendered five goals on 25
total shots in defeat. Joni Pitkanen, who came into the contest with no goals
and 11 assists through 22 games this season, scored twice and Patrick Sharp
had two assists for Philadelphia, which lost consecutive games for the
first time since October 17. 1
