PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Pavel Vorobiev scored late in overtime to help the Norfolk
Admirals edge the Philadelphia Phantoms, 2-1, on Saturday. Vorobiev, the 11th
overall pick selected by Chicago in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, took a pass from
Ajay Baines and beat goaltender Antero Niittymaki for his fifth goal of the
season. Mikhail Yakubov tallied midway through the third for a 1-1 tie and
Michael Leighton stopped 36 shots for Norfolk, which equaled a season-high
with three consecutive victories. Niittymaki turned aside 24 shots in the
loss. R.J. Umberger broke a scoreless tie on the power play late in the second
period for Philadelphia, which had its four-game overtime winning streak
snapped. 1
