PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Jon Sim recorded his third straight multi-point
performance as the Philadelphia Phantoms brawled to a 4-1 triumph over the
Providence Bruins on Wednesday, extending their franchise-record winning
streak to 15 games. Sim, who has five goals and eight points since November
20, had a goal and an assist in the first period and gave his club a 3-0
cushion on the power play early in the second. R.J. Umberger, who finished
with two points in the game, increased his goal-scoring streak to four games
with a first-period tally, Randy Jones chipped in with two assists and Antero
Niittymaki turned aside 20 shots for Philadelphia, which improved to 5-0 when
leading after the opening period. Josh Gratton, who received a fighting major
penalty in both the first and third stanzas, registered 30 penalty minutes for
the Phantoms in the contest, which featured seven fights and 208 penalty
minutes combined. Andrew Allen, who faced double-digit shots in each period,
made 31 saves in the loss. Martin Samuelsson spoiled the shutout bid for
Niittymaki on a goal with 50 seconds left in regulation for Providence, which
allowed four or more goals in consecutive games for the first time since
