PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Randy Jones had a goal and an assist in the third period
to help the Philadelphia Phantoms extend their winning streak to 12 games with
a 3-1 triumph over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday. Jones, who finished
with three points in the contest, helped Mark Murphy break a 1-1 tie early in
the stanza and capped the scoring with just over eight minutes remaining in
regulation. R.J. Umberger registered a goal for the third time in his last
four games and Antero Niittymaki turned aside 26 shots for Philadelphia, which
improved to 2-1 against Bridgeport this year. Dieter Kochan surrendered two
goals on eight third-period shots and ended with 23 saves in the loss. Sean
Bergenheim netted the lone score for the Sound Tigers, who had their four-game
winning streak snapped.
