PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Dennis Seidenberg registered his first three-point game of
the season for the Philadelphia Phantoms in a 4-1 triumph over the Hershey
Bears on Friday. The 23-year-old defenseman set up Joey Hope 2:46 into the
second period, gave his club a 2-1 lead on the power play just over two
minutes later and helped Ben Eager cap the scoring on an empty-netter late in
the third. Hope finished with two points and Patrick Sharp extended his
point-scoring streak to eight games with an assist for Philadelphia, which has
won 14 consecutive games against Hershey and has held opponents to one goal or
less in three of its last four contests. Antero Niittymaki turned aside 23
shots to pick up his fifth victory in as many starts. Tom Lawson, who faced 26
shots over the final two periods, made 26 saves in a lossing effort, dropping
his record to 1-3-0. Marek Svatos had the lone goal for the Bears, who fell
to 0-3 in games decided by three goals or more.
