PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Ryan Ready scored midway through the third peirod to help
the Philadelphia Phantoms defeat the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, 4-2, on
Wednesday. Ready broke a 2-2 tie when he took a pass from Mark Murphy and beat
goaltender Frederic Cassivi for his first tally of the season. Murphy and
Patrick Sharp, who has four goals and nine points in seven games this year,
each finished with a goal and two assists for Philadelphia, which has
taken five straight and sports a league-best 28.95 power-play percentage.
Antero Niittymaki stopped 18 shots to pick up his third consecutive
victory on home ice. Cassivi gave up two goals on five third-period shots and
ended with 20 saves in the loss. Igor Pohanka and Michael Holmqvist both had a
power-play score for Cincinnati, which has dropped two of its last three road games. 1
