PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Antero Niittymaki turned aside 22 shots and Tony Voce
registered two points as the Philadelphia Phantoms blanked the Bridgeport
Sound Tigers, 5-0, on Wednesday. Niittymaki stopped 10 second-period shots and
helped shut down six Bridgeport power plays en route to his first shutout of
the season. Voce set up Freddy Meyer midway through the middle stanza for a
2-0 lead and completed the scoring with 41 seconds left in the period. The
Boston College product, who extended his point-scoring streak to three games,
leads the club with four goals and six points. Patrick Sharp had a goal to
give him five consecutive games with at least one point and David Printz
tallied his first North-American marker for Philadelphia, which went 3-for-7
on the power play and improved its record to 3-2-0. Wade Dubielewicz
surrendered four goals on 11 second-period shots and ended with 27 saves in
defeat for the Sound Tigers, who have lost three of their last four.
