PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Anton Babchuk registered a season-high three points as the
Norfolk Admirals clinched the third seed in the East Division with a 4-2
victory over the Philadelphia Phantoms on Sunday. The 20-year-old defenseman
had a goal and an assist in the second period and capped the scoring with his
eighth marker of the season midway through the third. Pavel Vorobiev recorded
a goal and an assist and Adam Munro stopped 30 of 32 shots to finish the
regular season with a mark of 14-10-2 for Norfolk, which will face off against
Philadelphia in the East Division Quarterfinals for the second time in as many
postseasons. Neil Little, who turned aside 19 of the 21 shots he faced in the
second period, made 38 saves in the hard-luck loss. R.J. Umberger and Josh
Gratton each had a goal and Joni Pitkanen chipped in with two assists for the
Phantoms, who registered 100 or more points in a season for the fifth time in
their nine-year history.
