ALBANY, NY -- Antero Niittymaki recorded his sixth shutout of the season as the
Philadelphia Phantoms blanked the Albany River Rats, 4-0, on Saturday for their
fourth straight win. Niittymaki, who finished with 36 saves in the contest,
stopped 12 shots in the second period and 16 in the third for the win, raising
his record to 33-21-4 with a 2.07 goals-against average and a .924 save
percentage. Jon Sim netted his team-leading 37th goal and both Mark Murphy and
R.J. Umberger had two assists for Philadelphia, which is one victory away from
tying the franchise single-season record for wins with 49, set during its
inaugural 1996-97 campaign. Ari Ahonen surrendered two goals on 13 first-period
shots and ended with 26 saves in defeat for Albany, which fell to 0-3-2-1
against the Phantoms this year.
