PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Justin Papineau scored midway through the second period to
help the Bridgeport Sound Tigers down the Philadelphia Phantoms, 3-1, on
Friday. On a feed from Ryan Caldwell and Justin Mapletoft, Papineau beat
goaltender Antero Niittymaki for a 2-1 lead, tying him for the team-lead in
game-winning goals with five. Mapletoft finished with two assists, Chris
Campoli had a power-play goal and Wade Dubielewicz stopped 19 of 20 shots
for Bridgeport, which improved to 23-2-1-1 when leading after two periods.
Niittymaki made 20 saves in the loss. John Slaney netted his 13th goal of the
season for Philadelphia, which lost consecutive games for the first time since
March 6 and fell three points behind Binghamton for the East-Division lead.
