NORFOLK, VA -- Jon Sim scored both the tying goal in regulation and the deciding shootout marker to help the Philadelphia Phantoms down the Norfolk
Admirals, 4-3, on Saturday. After Rene Bourque gave Norfolk a 3-2 lead with
8:34 remaining in the third period, Sim netted his team-leading 35th goal of
the season just 20 seconds later. He then beat goaltender Adam Munro in the
second and sixth rounds of the shootout to give his team a mark of 6-4 when
tied after overtime. Tony Voce added a shorthanded tally and Neil Little, who
stopped all four shots he faced in the five-minute overtime, made 28 saves for
Philadelphia, which has taken five of its last six. Munro surrendered two
goals on nine second-period shots and ended with 25 saves in the loss. Eric
Nickulas had a goal and an assist for the Admirals, who fell to 3-18-0-1 when
trailing after two periods.
