BINGHAMTON, NY -- Anton Volchenkov registered four assists for the Binghamton
Senators in a decisive 7-4 victory over the Philadelphia Phantoms on
Wednesday. The 23-year-old rear-guard helped Brandon Bochenski break a 1-1 tie
on the power play early in the second period and set up three of the four
goals tallied by his club in the final stanza. Jason Spezza, who leads the
league with 74 assists and 103 points, had a goal and two assists and Chris
Neil scored twice for Binghatmon, which has won three of its last four. Ray
Emery turned aside all 14 shots he faced in the first peirod and finished with
33 saves for the win. Antero Niittymaki gave up a season-high six goals on 43
shots in defeat. Ben Eager recorded two goals in the second period and both
Jon Sim and R.J. Umberger added two assists for Philadelphia, which allowed
seven goals in a game for the first time since November 11, 2000. 1
