PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Tony Voce and Josh Gratton each had a goal and an assist
for the Philadelphia Phantoms in a 5-1 victory over the Springfield Falcons on
Friday. Voce tallied his 19th goal of the season with just over three minutes
gone in the third peirod and set up Gratton midway through the stanza for a
4-0 cushion. Gratton, who had a fighting major in the second period, drew the
secondary assist for Voce's marker. Jon Sim extended his goal-scoring streak
to five games and Riley Cote chipped in with two assists for Philadelphia,
which has won four of its last five and improved to 8-3-1 for the month.
Antero Niittymaki turned aside 19 of the 20 shots he faced for the win,
raising his record to 27-18-4. Jean-Marc Pelletier, who spent two seasons with
the Phantoms from 1998 to 2000, surrendered three goals on 11 third-period
shots and ended with 25 saves in defeat. Jason Jaspers had the lone goal for
Springfield, which has lost three straight by a combined score of 10-1.
