PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Ben Stafford, John Slaney and Boyd Kane each scored in the
third period as the Philadelphia Phantoms doubled up the Worcester IceCats,
4-2, on Friday. Stafford broke a 1-1 tie with his 12th marker of the season
7:34 into the final stanza. Slaney established a two-goal cushion midway
through the period and Kane followed with his seventh tally of the year late
in regulation. Jon Sim scored on the power play and Antero Niittymaki turned
aside 23 shots to pick up the win for Philadelphia, which has won four of its
last five. Curtis Sanford surrendered three goals on nine third-period shots
and ended with 14 saves in defeat. Jon DiSalvatore and Brendan Brooks each had
a goal for Worcester, which has dropped three straight. 1
