PORTLAND, ME -- Brian Willsie scored twice for the Portland Pirates in a 3-2
triumph over the Philadelphia Phantoms on Saturday. The sixth-year pro evened
the score at 1-1 with 53 seconds gone in the second peroid and netted his
sixth power-play marker of the season late in the stanza. Through Saturday,
Willsie leads the club with 15 goals. Chris Hajt added a goal and Jared Aulin
chipped in with two assists for Portland, which has won six of its last seven.
Maxime Daigneault, making his first career AHL start, turned aside all 11
shots he faced in the second period and finished with 27 saves for the win.
Neil Little stopped 21 shots in defeat. Tony Voce recorded two goals,
including his team-leading eighth power-play marker, for Philadelphia,
which suffered its third one-goal loss this month. 1
