PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Dennis Seidenberg scored early in overtime to give the
Philadelphia Phantoms a 4-3 triumph over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on
Wednesday. Seidenberg, who finished with two goals in the contest, put a pass
from Jon Sim behind goaltender Dieter Kochan 1:51 into the extra session,
giving him the league lead in game-winning goals among defensemen with five.
Sim added his fourth goal in his last three games and Wade Skolney registered
two assists for Philadelphia, which outshot Bridgeport by a count of 39-16 and
improved to 5-2 in overtime games this year. Antero Niittymaki, who faced
three third-period shots for the second time in as many games, allowed three
goals on 16 shots to pick up the win. Kochan, who stopped all 15 shots he
faced in the middle stanza, finished with 35 saves in the hard-luck loss. Cole
Jarrett recorded a season-high three points with a goal and two assists and
Bendan Yarema had a goal and an assist for the Sound Tigers, who fell to
2-9-1 when tied after two periods. 1
