Lowell Lock Monsters 1, Philadelphia Phantoms 0
=======================================
PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Cam Ward recorded his second shutout in as many games as
the Lowell Lock Monsters blanked the Philadelphia Phantoms, 1-0, on Friday.
Ward, a rookie from Sherwood Park, Alta., made eight saves over the first 20
minutes and stopped 10 shots in both the second and third periods en route to
his fifth shutout of the season. The 20-year-old netminder has won each of his last three starts and, with this victory, is 16-9-2 with a 2.06 goals-against
average and a save percentage of .934 for the season. Mike Zigomanis
extended his goal-scoring streak to three games with a first-period tally for
Lowell, which has won three of its last four. Antero Niittymaki turned aside
22 of the 23 shots he faced in the hard-luck defeat for Philadelphia, which
fell to 1-4-0 in February.
