NORFOLK, VA -- Mark Murphy scored late in the third period to lift the
Philadelphia Phantoms over the Norfolk Admirals, 3-1, on Wednesday. Murphy
took a pass from Patrick Sharp and beat goaltender Michael Leighton with 3:15
left in regulation for his fourth game-winner of the season. Tony Voce netted
a power-play goal and Antero Niittymaki turned aside 25 shots for
Philadelphia, which halted a four-game losing skid and picked up its first
road victory since January 8. Leighton surrendered two goals on seven third-
period shots and ended with 13 saves in defeat. Michal Barinka registered his
first goal of the year for Norfolk, which had its four-game winning streak
snapped.
