PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Ben Stafford scored twice to help the Philadelphia
Phantoms defeat the Hartford Wolf Pack, 5-1, on Friday. Stafford opened the
scoring 86 seconds into the contest and established a 4-1 cushion with help
from Boyd Kane and Todd Fedoruk late in the third period. Kane and Fedoruk
each finished with two assists and Antero Niittymaki stopped 28 of 29 shots
for Philadelphia, which improved to 5-0 with scoring five goals in a contest
this year. Steve Valiquette surrendered four goals on 23 shots in defeat. Jeff
Hamilton had the lone goal for Hartford, which lost for just the third time in
its last nine games.
