ALBANY, NY -- Ben Stafford scored the deciding shootout for the Philadelphia
Phantoms in a 5-4 victory over the Albany River Rats on Saturday. The
26-year-old center beat goaltender Scott Clemmensen in the fourth round of the
shootout to put his team up 3-1. Boyd Kane had a goal and an assist and Neil
Little, who stopped three of the five players he faced in the shootout, made
24 saves for Philadelphia, which recorded its first win in its last four
shootout appearances. Clemmensen surrendered two goals on 17 third period
shots and ended with 40 saves in defeat, dropping his record to 6-11-3. Ray
Schultz registered a goal and an assist and both Zach Parise and Eric
Johansson had two assists for Albany, which has lost eight straight.
