PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Mark Murphy scored twice at the Philadelphia Phantoms
registered six unanswered goals to defeat the Hershey Bears, 6-2, on Friday.
Murphy, a fifth-year pro from R.P.I., broke a 2-2 tie with an unassisted tally
5:55 into the third period and capped the scoring late in the stanza with help
from Freddy Meyer and P.J. Stock. Meyer and Jim Vandermeer each had two assists
and Neil Little, who stopped all 17 shots he faced between the second and third
periods, made 24 saves for Philadelphia, which recorded six goals in a contest
for the third time this season and is 5-0-1 since December 13. Tom Lawson
surrendered five goals on 10 third-period shots and ended with 24 saves in
defeat. Brett Clark and Brad Larsen each scored for Hershey, which has lost
three straight and six of its last eight. 1
