Philadelphia Phantoms 4, Syracuse Crunch 4

SYRACUSE, NY -- Nick Deschenes, Kirk Furey and Peter White each scored in the
third period to help the Philadelphia Phantoms rally for a 4-4 tie with the
Syracuse Crunch on Saturday. Deschenes, who finished with two points, cut the
Syracuse lead to 4-2 with his second goal of the season early in the period.
Furey put in a pass from Kirby Law midway through the stanza and White netted
his seventh of the season with 2:17 left in regulation to complete the
scoring. Law added an assist and James Laux recorded a goal and an assist for
Philadelphia, which raised its unbeaten streak to four games. Antero
Niittymaki, who stopped 34 total shots in the contest, turned aside 13 of 14
third-period chances and needed one save in overtime to perserve the tie for
the Phantoms. Pascal Leclaire made seven saves in the extra session and ended
with 33 stops in the tie. Kent McDonell had a goal and two assists and Ben
Knopp registered a goal and an assist for the Crunch, who had their winless
skid extended to four games.
