HERSHEY, PA -- Randy Jones had a goal and an assist to help the Philadelphia
Phantoms extend their unbeaten streak to eight games with a 4-1 triumph over
the Hershey Bears on Wednesday. Jones, a rookie out of Clarkson University, set
up Mike Peluso early in the first period and netted his first professional goal
with 2:51 remaining in the stanza. Jeff Woywitka and Boyd Kane each added two
assists and Antero Niitymaki stopped 31 shots for Philadelphia, which improved
to 7-0-1 since November 16, outscoring opponents by a count of 30-14. Peter
Budaj surrendered three goals on 12 shots and was pulled after the first period
to take the loss. Sheldon Keefe registered his second power-play goal of the
season for Hershey, which has dropped three of its last five.
