BRIDGEPORT, CT -- Blaine Down and Derek Bekar each scored in the third period
to help the Bridgeport Sound Tigers rally for a 3-2 triumph over the
Philadelphia Phantoms on Saturday. Down evened the score at 2-2 with his first
goal of the season early in the period and Bekar netted his team-leading third
game-winning marker with just under six minutes left in regulation. Rob Collins
chipped in with a goal and an assist and Dieter Kochan stopped 25 shots for
Bridgeport, which improved to 8-0-1-1 since October 19. John Slaney and Mike
Peluso each scored in the second period for Philadelphia, which had its winless
skid extended to four games. Neil Little, who stopped the only shot he faced in
the first period, surrendered two goals on seven third-period shots and ended
with 13 saves in defeat.
