PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Kirby Law and Patrick Sharp each had a goal and an assist
in the third period to help the Philadelphia Phantoms down the Hershey Bears,
5-1 on Friday. Law established a 4-0 lead on the power play midway through the
period with help from Sharp. He then set up Sharp for a five-goal cushion with
4:54 remaining in regulation. Boyd Kane added a goal and an assist and both
Randy Jones and John Slaney chipped in with two assists for Philadelphia,
which has outscored Hershey by a count of 11-3 in two meetings this year.
Antero Niittymaki turned aside 27 of 28 shots and helped kill all nine Bears
power plays to pick up the win. Tom Lawson, who faced double-digit shots in
each period made 37 saves in suffering his first defeat of the season after a
3-0-0 start. Ryan Craig tallied the lone goal for Hershey, which had its
five-game road unbeaten streak snapped.
