Albany River Rats 4, Philadelphia Phantoms 3
==================================

ALBANY, NY -- Greg Crozier and Craig Darby each scored in the first period as
the Albany River Rats edged the Philadelphia Phantoms, 4-3, on Saturday.
Crozier opened the scoring on the power play with just over six minutes gone
in the stanza and Darby established a two-goal cushion just over seven minutes
later. Maxim Balmochnykh and Adam Foster each added a goal and Steve Kariya
chipped in with two assists for Albany, which halted a four-game home winless
skid to begin the season. Scott Clemmensen, who has started all nine games for
the River Rats this year, turned aside 23 of the 26 shots he faced to pick up
the victory. Antero Niittymaki gave up two goals on just eight first-period
shots and ended with 17 saves in defeat. John Slaney recorded a goal and an
assist for Philadelphia, which dropped its fifth straight loss. 1
