NORFOLK, VA -- Quintin Laing and Shawn Thornton each scored for the Norfolk
Admirals in a 2-1 triumph over the Philadelphia Phantoms on Saturday. Laing
broke a scoreless tie with a power-play tally six minutes into the second
period and Thornton netted an unassisted marker early in the third to complete
the scoring. Craig Anderson, who stopped all 13 shots he faced in the final
stanza, made 23 saves in the victory for Norfolk, which has won three of its
last five. Neil Little stopped 20 shots and Andre Savage had a goal for
Philadelphia, which has been held to two goals or less in each of its last five
games with a record of 0-3-1-1.
