CINCINNATI, OH -- Steve Gainey had a goal and an assist for the Philadelphia
Phantoms in a 4-1 triumph over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks on Wednesday. Gainey
helped John Slaney open the scoring on the power play midway through the first
period and put a feed from Randy Jones past goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov late in
the second for his first goal in four games with Philadelphia. Jones finished
with two assists, Boyd Kane added a power-play marker and Neil Little turned
aside 21 shots for the Phantoms, who have won four of their last five and held
their opponents to one goal or less for the 21st time this season. Bryzgalov
made 24 saves in defeat. Josh Gratton, a 22-year-old from Scarborough, Ontario,
netted his first career AHL goal for Cincinnati, which has lost four of its
last five. 1
