Philadelphia Phantoms 4, Hershey Bears 1
=================================

HERSHEY, PA -- Freddy Meyer recorded his first professional hat trick as the
Philadelphia Phantoms notched four third-period goals to defeat the Hershey
Bears, 4-1, on Saturday. Meyer, a product of Boston University, evened the
score at 1-1 on the power play 4:57 into the final stanza. The rookie
defenseman put a Mark Murphy feed past goaltender Peter Budaj midway through
the period and capped the tri-fecta with an empty-netter, giving him eight
goals and 17 points in 36 games this year. John Slaney set a new league record
among blueliners by netting his 125 career AHL goal and Neil Little improved to
17-9-0 by stopping 21 shots for Philadelphia, which has taken all 10 meetings
against Hershey this season. Budaj gave up three goals on 11 third-period shots
and ended with 27 saves in defeat. Pascal Trepanier scored on the power play
late in the opening stanza for the Bears, who have lost six of their last seven. 1
