BINGHAMTON, NY -- David Hymovitz scored a natural hat trick and Ray Emery
stopped 34 shots as the Binghamton Senators edged the Philadelphia Phantoms,
6-5, on Saturday. Hymovitz tallied consecutive goals 38 seconds apart with four
minutes left in the second period and found the back of the net again with 40
seconds remaining in the stanza. Emery turned aside 18 of the 21 shots he faced
over the final 20 minutes to raise his recod to 17-12-3. Serge Payer had a goal
and two assists and both Alexandre Giroux and Brooks Laich recorded a goal and
an assist for Binghamton, which has won six of its last seven. Kirby Law and
Ian MacNeil each scored twice for Philadelphia, which had its seven game
unbeaten streak snapped. Chris Houle took the loss despite allowing just one
goal on nine shots. Antero Niittymaki, who started the contest, gave up five
goal on the 11 shots he faced.
