PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Kirk Furey had a goal and two assists for the Philadelphia
Phantosm in a 5-2 victory over the Albany River Rats on Friday. Furey helped
Claude Lapointe, playing in his first pro game since mid-December, score on the
power play midway through the first period. The blueliner netted his sixth goal
of the season 6:50 into the second for a 3-0 lead and added a final-stanza
assist. Kirby Law chipped in with a goal and an assist and Jeff Hackett, making
a rehab start, stopped 16 shots for Philadelphia, which extended its unbeaten
streak to seven games. Ari Ahonen made 21 saves in defeat, dropping his record
to 8-14-3. Jiri Bicek registered a goal and an assist for Albany, which had its
winless skid extended to six games.
