PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Antero Niittymaki recorded his second shutout in January as
the Philadelphia Phantoms blanked the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, 2-0, on Friday.
Niittymaki, who improved to 13-7-4 with a .925 save percentage, stopped nine
first-period shots and finished with 16 saves en route to his fourth shutout of
the season. Kirk Furey had a pair of goals for Philadelphia, which has won
seven of its last eight. Dieter Kochan made 20 saves in the loss for
Bridgeport, which has lost five straight.
