PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Nick Deschenes scored midway through the third period to
help the Philadelphia Flyers edge the Hamilton Bulldogs, 3-2, on Wednesday.
Deschenes put a feed from Kirby Law past goaltender Olivier Michaud 9:15 into
the final stanza for his first game-winning goal of the season. Freddy Meyer
had two assists and Peter White registered a goal and an assist for
Philadelphia, which improved to 7-5 in one-goal games this season. Antero
Niittymaki stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced to pick up the win, raising his
record to 9-7-4. Michaud made 20 saves in the loss. Chris Higgins and Jozef
Balej each scored for Hamilton, which fell to 0-3-2 since December 30.
