PERSONAL |
| John Bell the history. This is a page to get to know my background, and
hopefully understand myself on a more personal level. I was born in 1975, and grew up in
the beautiful village of Elora, Ontario. I lived with my mother, older sister and brother,
until 1997. My father, who passed away in 1985, was a bank manager. My mother works as a
nurse for the VON of Kingston, where she now resides. I attended high school in nearby
Fergus (CWDHS Centre Wellington District High School), graduating in 1994. During those years, I was an avid ice hockey player in a
terrific minor hockey system until I was 20. In 1997, I attended Sir Sandford Fleming College in Lindsay, graduating as an Aquaculture Technician. It was at Fleming college that I discovered GIS/Cartography, my chosen profession. I moved to Ottawa in 1998 to attend Algonquin College's Geographic Information Systems program. I graduated in 2001, and am currently employed at an innovative mapping firm here in Ottawa. I enjoy all types of activities during my time off. Hockey is first and foremost. Cycling, reading, watching movies are just a few things I enjoy. I keep a close circle of friends, whom I enjoy spending time with. Ottawa is a city that offers a number of opportunities for both professional and leisure activities, and I want very much to keep it as such. This is a beautiful city that deserves the utmost respect from citizens and council alike. |
