5.1  Learning Targets

Determine that a figure has reflection symmetry and finds the line of symmetry for figures that do

Constructs the reflected images of points and geometric figures over a line

Describes the relationship between the line of reflection and the segment joining a point to its reflective image

5.2  Learning Targets

Recognizes rotation symmetry

Determines the center of rotation and the angle of rotation given a figure and its rotation image

Constructs images under rotation and iterates a rotation to create a figure with rotation symmetry

Describe the relationship between the number of identical elements and the angle of rotation

5.3 Learning Targets

Translates points and figures given a vector of translation 

Determines the vector of translation given a pair of translated figures

Compares transformations and analyzes the results in terms of single transformations with the same result

5.4  Learning Targets

Enlarges or shrinks coordinatized diagrams by multiplying or dividing coordinates

Understands and applies the projection method for scaling a drawing


5.5 Learning Targets

Describe the effect of an algebraically described transformation on a coordinate point

Applies algebraic rules to transform points

Writes algebraic rules to translate points along a given vector
