Apathy
By: Johnathan M. Cobb
Flash
of steel ...
clean
cut ...
flesh
opens ...
life flows.
Sweet
release.
Into the open
arms of
death
I run.
An end to
pain,
an end to
regret.
Crimson
colored apathy;
my life drying
on the floor.
It is not the
blade
which takes my
life,
no, it frees me.
It is the memories
which
are killing me.
I am tired of
this never-ending
battle with
myself.
Here ...
my white flag.
I surrender. |
