OUR DEAR SCHOOL COMICS Issue no. 1
October, 1977

Make no mistake, strangers to these unusual comics aren't going to be impressed with the style or content of this very first issue of MC Comics' longest-running series. The guys were twelve years old at the time and faced a long road ahead towards improving their technique.

Our Dear School Comics was not originally intended to be a series at all. John Beers was still stuck firmly in the Super-hero mode when making comics, but a chemistry formed between he and new-found friend Scot Mills which lent itself to making a comic book parodizing life at their middle school. Many characters soon to be at the head of MC's main stable, like Super Teach, Dean O'Crud, and Scot, appeared for the first time in this issue. About a month later, en route to Miami on a field trip, the boys conjured up another similar comic, which quite by accident was designated "Our Dear School Comics #2". Over thirty more issues were to follow.
