Johnstown # 7, June 1979

This is the splash page for a rather extraordinary issue(even by MC's standards). After all, the twisted journey of the Johnstown title began as a typically tasteless MC parody of world events, then morphed into a tool of Beers' idealistic cultural platform, and finally went out with this ironically amplified parody of the whole Johnstown concept itself, which like the comic book, had run its course and was entirely redundant by early April of 1979, when this final issue of Johnstown was released. Any time in MC's future in which "Johnstown" made an occasional re-appearance (such as MC Presents #12), it was strictly for reasons nostalgic. John Beers was glad to be rid of the whole ridiculous nonsense.
