Special Wedding Surprise!
There was one thing that we left out of our recap.  The night of the rehearsal, at dinner, at the table behind ours, we were "joined" by a lonely man.  He was a bit scruffy and looked a bit "rough."  Later, he was in the lounge with the guys, too.  He came over to see our decorations in the banquet rooms across the hall and we got to know him.  He was a truck driver and had gotten stranded with his load by all of the recent snow.

The night of our reception, he wandered into the banquet rooms again...and went to the table where our families were seated.  They all, of course, immediately invited him to share the party with us and to ring in the New Year with us.

It is not a lot...but it is one thing that helped us to understand and to show our friends that in 2001 it IS a global family that we share!!!!  (I hope that someone got some pictures of this man.  I remember him well today....but who knows about tomorrow.  We don't even know his name or where he was from...only that he wished us well and was happy to consider us his family for the holiday!)

Thank you stranger for sharing our special day with us and for giving us a most special wedding gift...the gift of a stranger's love!
