Eventually, we had to face the banquet rooms next door...and all of the stuff that we had to get out of the hotel before check-out time!!!! With the help of the remaining wedding party (dwindling by now...do you think it was the weekend-long partying that did it???), we managed to get things loaded.
We drove home, unloaded what we had to, then headed to John's sister's house to pick up Eric. We spent some time chatting...and Eric had a few wedding presents to open, too! Eventually we had to leave. We had to drop the tuxes at the best man's house (he returned them for EVERYONE!!!)...and then be at Mom and Dad's house for the traditional New Year's Day feast on "roast beast" (or roast beef if you are not an avid Grinch fan)! (As an after note, let me just say that it took us until Thursday to finish opening gifts and putting them away!)
After all was said and done and we had tipped the limo driver, DJ, photographer, etc., we had $1 left from our dollar dance...pretty good, eh? Also, I have never been to a wedding where the vendors thanked the bride and groom for "inviting" THEM to such a great party. We got hugs from the limo driver, photographer (who was only going to stay until 9:00...but ended up DANCING till 11:30!), and the DJ!!! Our friends want to know how we are gonna "top" this party...until we win the lotto, I don't think that we can afford it!
