| Our story is not all that romantic...but really fits us. JohnandRain give an annual open house the Friday before Christmas. Rain was cleaning a turkey and preparing it for the Weber grill when John came home from work (about 4 hours before guests were due to arrive). John took off his coat and laid it on a kitchen chair. As he walked to the bathroom to take a shower, he told Rain that the guys from the shop had given him a little gift to bring home. It wasn't much...but it was in his coat pocket. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Rain cleaned her hands, reached into the pocket and pulled out a little, gift-wrapped box. She opened the package to find the most perfect diamond ring in a simple white gold setting! John came back around the corner and asked, "Do you know what that is?" Rain nodded. John asked, "Do you want to see if it fits?" and slipped it on her finger. All Rain could do was smile!!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| After that, John took his shower. Rain took the ring off and put it on the window sill to continue cleaning the turkey. When John came back into the kitchen after his shower and saw this he got rather upset and told Rain to never remove the ring again! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Later, at the open house, Rain's mom gave John the tears and the BIG reaction that every man hopes for! Nearly all of John's friends who came to the open house already KNEW about Rain's ring...in fact, most of them asked to see what she had gotten for Christmas as soon as they walked in the door! | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| Three days later, while sitting down to dinner, John was explaining to Eric that he and Rain were going to be getting married. Eric turned to Rain and asked if she would marry him, too. Rain, of course, accepted! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
