| How We Met | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| John and Rain met on a Memorial Day river rafting trip with a group of friends from a local bar (The Keg, Mendon, MI).� Just like the Cinderella story, Rain had to leave early from the picnic that followed the trip.� John asked everyone, "Who was that girl?"�� He learned her name and knew that he'd see her at the bar again (after all, they were both "regulars"). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Halloween 1999.� Rain made John's bridal gown; she dressed as his groom.� They came in 2nd place! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| John and Rain became friends...and really wanted nothing more.� John was going through a divorce at the time.� Rain was happy courting a harem of young men at the bar! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Halloween came, and John found himself a bit depressed and without a costume for his favorite holiday.� It was Rain to the rescue!� She showed up at his house with all the tie-dye she could find and the fixings for a great hippy costume (including wig) for her friend.� (Rain was dressed as Spiderella in a black and silver sequined gown and black wig.)� By the end of the evening, they were Sonny and Cher and declared the evening their first date!� (Since then, they have never missed dressing for Halloween...and ususally place 1st or 2nd in the bar's costume contest.) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| John was worried about introducing Rain to Eric because he didn't want Eric to become too attached to Rain...not knowing how things would turn out.� However, after a few more dates, John asked Rain to come to meet Eric (he was 5 years old at the time).� The three of them spent the morning sitting on the kitchen floor in John's house playing with toy tool benches! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Within 2 years, Eric declared that Rain was his best friend...accompanied by major sobs from Rain in the middle of the produce department in the grocery store! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
