Family Medallion Ceremony
Pastor Don:
[Call Eric to join John and Rain in the center of the altar; request medallion from Keith.]
[Pastor's comments and belssing on the medallion.]

Two merged circles are often used to symbolize love and marriage.  This Family Medallion has three circles merged within a larger circle to symbolize the love and inseparability of John and 'Rain...and Eric.  Often marriage is viewed as the union of two individuals.  In reality, however, marriage is much broader.

As we give thanks to God for the love which brings John and Rain together, so, too, we recognize Eric and the significant role he plays in this marriage we celebrate tonight.
John & Rain:
[Pinning the medallion to Eric's jacket lapel.]
We give this medallion to you, Eric,
as a pledge to always include you
in the love that we have for each other.
Accept this medallion
as a symbol of our new family.
[Hugs all around.]
