If anyone ever tells you Rover Metros are slow, then they've probably never driven or been in one. The 1.1's are pretty
impressive easily managing under 19.5 seconds 1/4 mile at santa pod (compare that to a rover 214 16v 83bhp version even modded
could not get under 20 seconds) a 1.4 gta is alot faster than a 1.1 aswell, theres 30% more torque and 20% more bhp. At santa
pod I've beaten times from cars like Nova GSi that was modded, modded Fiesta Zetec S, Saxo VTR to name just a few. I'm not
saying my car is faster than EVERY nova or EVERY saxo, just my car is pretty standard and it can hold its own against modded,
and you would think much faster, cars. See the section on Metro GTi to find out how fast they are.
Power: 80bhp and 90lbft 0-60: 9.9seconds Top speed: 112mph 1/4 Mile at santa pod: 17.8 @ 73mph (I've still not managed to run on a day that hasn't had gale force winds and/or
very damp start line. On the day I did that time my mates Metro GTi was running at least 0.4 seconds slower than usual on
his BEST time, so I would say maybe 17.5 (not to be over enthusiastic) could be a better time for my car)
